Aghaz e haqooq e Balochistan Project

Introduction

The project is focused towards providing opportunities for access to higher education to under privileged candidates of Balochistan, who despite possessing academic merit are unable to overcome the obstacle of funding, which is not only restricted to tuition costs, but extends to accommodation and living expenses. The project, when seen in the overall perspective of the Government of Pakistan, supplements the efforts of HEC in Human Resource Development.

The project was presented by Federal Government on November 25, 2009 to a joint sitting of parliament and approved by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. The administrative approval of the project was issued in September 2012. The aim of the package is to alleviate the sense of deprivation prevailing in the province.

The total Cost of the project is Rs. 3138.692 million including FEC of Rs. 2258.820 million and the duration of the Project is 96 months.

The Scholarship program is meant to provide 600 Master leading to PhD scholarships (200 overseas and 400 indigenous) to talented students of Balochistan.
